Tips for Fee Schedule Assignments
- Assignments can be made to a specific provider, speciality, location, or any combination of these.
The selected combination must be unique. (Can not already exist in your environment) - If the Fee Schedule selected is a UCR, then it should be assigned to a provider, location, or a combination of both.
- Either a Provider or a Specialty is allowed. Both cannot be used together.
- Any Fee Schedule can be assigned to a patient as their default Fee Schedule, which is explained in the next section.
What is this Assignment and Why is it Important?
- Think of Fee schedules as different Rate Cards that your practice can have.
- You might have a visiting specialist who charges more if they are performing an XLA + Implant instead of you as a resident provider.
- You would create a normal Fee schedule for your Location. You would create another Fee Schedule just for XLAs + Implants.
- You would assign the normal Location Fee Schedule to your Location.
- You would assign the specialist Fee schedule to the Provider.
That is how easy it is to assign a fee schedule for your practice.
